The best places to elope in Atlanta

If you and your partner have decided that you’ll be eloping in Georgia, finding the best location for your day is crucial. Fortunately, Atlanta is home to plenty of gorgeous locations that will make finding a wedding venue fun and enjoyable. Whether you want to recite your vows in the iconic Piedmont Park, the historic estate of the Cator Woolford Gardens, or even a fun indoor location that gives off a modern city vibe, the sky is truly the limit. Once you finalize where to elope in Georgia, you’ll want to make sure you have everything lined up to file for your marriage license.

Selecting the best elopement packages in Atlanta

It might feel overwhelming to try and find local vendors who can elevate your wedding day, which is why we have Georgia elopement packages available for anyone wanting to make Atlanta their wedding location. Your team can be as small or as grand as you’d like: if all you’re looking for is an officiant to marry you and a photographer to capture the day, we’ve got you covered! If you’re looking to add in a Pinterest-worthy bouquet, a top-notch hair and makeup artist, or a professional ceremony coordinator to help make your day free of stress, we can help make sure your elopement package has absolutely everything you need.

How to elope in Atlanta

The perfect mix of southern charm and a big city feel, Atlanta has just about everything you’d want in a wedding location: historic architecture, bustling city streets, and quiet enclaves filled with lush greenery and nature make Atlanta one of the best places to elope in Georgia. If you’re wondering how exactly to plan your Georgia elopement in beautiful Atlanta, look no further.

What time of year should I elope in Atlanta?

Atlanta has nice, mild winters and a colorful, vibrant fall season – both great times to explore this beautiful city. Many visit from May through August, which allows for tourists to experience outdoor activities, but spring is also a great time to elope in Atlanta! The azaleas and dogwoods are in bloom, setting the perfect tone for an intimate wedding or elopement outdoors. Summers here can be hot and muggy, with the occasional rain-shower when humidity is high, so be sure to pack accordingly!

Making your Atlanta elopement legal

Filing for your marriage license in Atlanta is a fairly straightforward process. If you’re not a resident of Georgia, you must apply for the marriage license in the county where you’ll be holding your ceremony. A form of photo identification is required (a driver’s license, birth certificate or passport all work), and there is a fee of $56 for filing the application. There is no waiting period in Georgia, which means you can receive your marriage license and hold your ceremony on the very same day!
