What’s your favorite elopement venue in Dallas?

I’d have to say the Japanese Water Gardens, especially right now when the leaves are all red / fall-esque. That and the Turtle Creek Mansion have been my faves with Simply Eloped for sure!

What’s a fun fact about you?

I actually grew up in most of Southeast Asia, so I speak English and Mandarin Chinese (although I’m not super fluent any more)!

My favorite venue for elopments is probably the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens but there are so many places to choose from it’s hard to really have a favorite.

Where should I plan my Dallas elopement?

When is the best time of year to I elope in Dallas?

While you might think of heat and humidity when you think of Texas, Dallas, this southwest state does have a variety of climates throughout the seasons. If you’re looking for a wedding day that’s perfect for an outdoor elopement, consider spring and fall seasons, when climates are generally mild and balmy. Summers can be hot and muggy, and winters can get cold and windy, so if you’re looking to elope in Dallas during those seasons, carefully choose your location spot, and pack accordingly!

What’s the best time of day for a Dallas elopement?

Due to the potential for heat and harsh lighting, we recommend the hours around sunrise and sunset for elopements, especially during the warmer months. If you’re eloping indoors or somewhere with heavy shade, this is obviously less of an issue! If you’re planning on eloping in a public place, however, avoid crowds by planning a ceremony around opening and closing time.

How to legalize your Dallas elopement

After you’ve selected your team and your location, you’ll want to read up on how to make your elopement official. You can apply at any Dallas County Clerk’s office in the state of Texas, as the license is good to use throughout the entire state of Texas. You and your partner must be present when filing the application, and need to have a form of identification (such as a driver’s license or birth certificate), and the cost can vary between $70-$85, depending on which county you choose to file through.
