You can elope on the beach in Galveston or at gorgeous places like McGovern Centennial Gardens, the greenhouse at the Oak Atelier, or the gardens at the Houston Arboretum.

I am originally from Canada! I have lived in Houston since 2011 but I am still an immigrant!

We have a wide verity of locations to choose from! Beaches, city, woods, elegant green houses, gardens you name it! We are a diverse city in so many ways, including elopement locations.

Tell us about one of your most magical elopements in Houston!

There is something extra special about getting up before dawn to exchange vows with the love of your life on a empty beach. It was cloudy but the sun broke through and made their photos look like a dream. They also chose to get married on their anniversary from when they first met on a plane. One of my favorite love stories yet.

After deciding that Houston is where you want to elope in Texas, you’ll want to find the perfect venue and team. Our Texas elopement packages make finding your venue and vendors seamless and stress-free.

How do I legally elope in Houston?

Apply for your marriage license in person at any local County Clerk’s Office, and make sure you plan on waiting to get married at least 72 hours later, as there is a waiting period! Your license will be valid for 90 days after you applied. The state of Texas requires a valid ID – either birth certificate or state issued ID, or social security number – and presence of both parties when picking up a license. The processing fee is $72 for Texas residents (you’ll need to bring proof of this). For out of state residents, the cost to obtain your marriage license is $172.

If you’re looking for the best places to elope in Houston, Texas, you’ve come to the right place. Having a wedding in Texas is all about celebrating big (no matter how small and intimate your day is), and Houston has so much to offer. For a truly epic elopement experience, consider taking a trip just 45 minutes west of Houston to Galveston beaches – yes, you read that right! Beautiful sandy beaches and a stretch of shoreline mean you can walk hand-in-hand with your new spouse and watch a beautiful sunset with your toes in the sand.

What time of year should I elope in Houston?

While you can visit Houston any time of the year, we love the mild temps and pleasant weather that the spring and fall bring. Between February and April, you’ll have easy, moderate climates; between September and November, you’ll encounter a beautiful and warm fall season. We recommend you avoid the middle summer months like July, which is the warmest month Houston usually experiences, where the average day time temperature can rise to mid-90’s temperatures.

How much is a Houston elopement?

Bigger in Texas doesn’t always mean needing a bigger wallet: pulling off an elopement in Houston is relatively affordable. Our Houston elopement packages begin at just $425 and include officiation services, enactment of the ceremony itself, and advice on obtaining your marriage license as well as assisting with choosing a ceremony location. If you wanted to pull out all of the stops, we offer our Oasis Package – which includes just about everything you can think of for your day, like a photographer, florist, hair and makeup services, a day-of helper and more – starting at just $2,325.

More often than not, when you first meet your person, you know pretty quickly. With Alexa & William, they both knew early in the relationship that they were destined for each other. From the ease of conversation to the way they just ‘got’ each other in their initial conversations, it didn’t take long for William to know Alexa was going to be his wife. Why did you decide to elope?

Alexa: I originally wanted to elope because I wanted the focus to be on us for our wedding day instead of trying to please other people and not enjoy the day. I wanted the goal to be preparing for MARRIAGE and not the WEDDING.

How did you know Simply Eloped was the right fit for you?

The photographs were all I needed to see in order to know that Simply Eloped was right for us! I read reviews and every couple had no regrets with their choice.

What attracted you to the venue you eloped at?

I loved the natural lighting shining into the venue [The Oak Atelier, Houston] and being surrounded by nature gave off such a romantic vibe. The venue was beautiful without any decorations and I loved the simplicity of it.

Tell us about your experience with Simply Eloped leading up to and on your big day!

Simply Eloped was great at communicating through this whole process. It was so nice to not have to worry about planning anything. We loved that our officiant and photographer stayed in touch up until our big day, so that when we finally met in person we felt like they were already friends of ours!

How did you celebrate after?

Due to COVID we weren’t comfortable eating out, so we ordered dinner to-go from our favorite restaurant – Texas Roadhouse. We both had huge steaks and popped a bottle of champagne out on our patio at home and enjoyed dinner on our balcony with our dog Bella.

What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?

The more intimate the better! It’s so important to really enjoy that day with your spouse because you can’t get that day back! There’s no stress, and family/friends that truly love you will understand your reason on your choice to elope. You won’t regret it.
