You Will Love This Venue If...

  • You envision a dramatic, nature-filled setting for your wedding photos, with crystal-clear alpine lakes and rugged mountain scenery.

Must Know

  • Permits: Your permit, included in the Wildflower package, allows you to have the ceremony at designated locations such as Sprague Lake, 3M Curve, or Bear Lake. Dream Lake itself is photo-only; ceremonies are not permitted. There are only 6 permits issued daily for the entire park.
  • Weather & Accessibility: The Dream Lake trail is accessible year-round but can be affected by snow and ice during winter. It is a 2.2-mile round-trip hike, which can be moderately challenging in some sections. Proper hiking gear is essential, especially in winter.
  • Crowds & Timing: Dream Lake is a popular hiking spot, so early morning or weekday hikes are best to avoid crowds. Note that the permit is not for exclusive use; other hikers may be present during your photo session.

Good to Know Before You Elope Here

We definitely recommend bringing a backpack to Dream Lake for snacks, water, sunscreen, flowers, etc. In the case of rain, we can duck into your car and wait for the weather to pass (it generally breaks quickly). Otherwise, we can plan for another day. Touch base with us in that case! You will definitely need hiking boots to get to Dream Lake since it's a 2.2 round trip hike. It's an easy hike but still necessitates hiking boots. If you're eloping here September - May, there may be snow and therefore we recommend you bring a coat and are prepared to dress warm. Speaking of tips, we highly recommend them for your team! $30/person is customary and means a lot for the work they put in!
