Good to Know Before You Elope Here

It can take longer to get around Marquette and Presque Isle Park than you might expect, especially in summer when the park is busy with tourists, cyclists, and visitors coming to catch the sunset. Even if your map says it’s a quick drive, we recommend leaving at least 20–30 minutes earlier than you think you’ll need. Parking near Sunset Point can fill up quickly, so plan to arrive early to secure a spot. Travel light! You don’t want backpacks, bags, or other clutter in your photos. Plus, you’ll be walking on uneven rocky terrain near the overlook, so the less you carry, the better. In case of rain, there’s no covered shelter at Sunset Point. You can wait out a passing shower in your car or nearby trees, reschedule, or embrace a moody, rainy photo session (which can be incredibly beautiful). We’re happy to support whatever you choose! If you’re wearing heels, bring a pair of flats or walking shoes for the short walk from the parking lot to the overlook — you won’t regret it. Speaking of tips, they are always appreciated by your team! $30/person is customary and goes a long way toward thanking everyone for their hard work. Lastly, don’t forget to soak it all in. Sunset Point is one of Marquette’s most breathtaking spots to say “I do.” Breathe, relax, and enjoy every moment, you’ve got this. ;)
