Kyle and Monica had an instant connection when they met. That connection helped them through a life-changing medical experience that made them decide to get married sooner rather than later! The two decided to elope at 3M Curve at the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. They knew that this epic mountain vista would make a statement about their relationship. Timeless and forever. Monica & Kyle exchanged their promises to each other under blue skies and celebrated with an intimate dinner in Estes Park. Afterward, the family joined them to share their joy. Simply Eloped was honored to help every step of the way as these two planned their forever together.

How did you meet? What was your first impression of one another?

Monica: We first met on tinder. After a few months, we met in person, and I went to pick Kyle up for our first date. We had such an instant connection. He instantly made me feel comfortable; we got along so well!

How did you propose or accept the proposal?

Monica: Kyle proposed to me next to my hospital bed after my surgery to find out what type of cancer I had. I had a huge tumor and was given two weeks to live. I knew that I needed to marry my best friend with only a few days left on earth. Kyle serenaded me through my first chemo that night in the hospital. After a few days, we got the news that things were actually improving! My tumor was shrinking from one round of chemo, and I was able to breathe again! I was able to leave the hospital after two weeks!

Where did you choose to elope, and why did you choose that destination?

Monica: We chose the Rocky Mountain National Park because Colorado is home to our hearts. The outdoors is a huge part of our lives, as well as staying active and healthy. We wanted to feature the beauty, intimacy, and strength of the mountains within our little elopement to start the rest of our lives together.

Let’s plan your stress-free elopement. Start today!

What attracted you to the venue you chose for your elopement? What were your favorite parts about eloping there?

Monica: The views, the drama, the picture-perfect scenery, the calm, and the way the mountains stand so tall and conquer it all. We really felt that the rocky mountains perfectly encompassed our love and relationship.

How would you describe your elopement venue to someone who has never been there?

Monica: Beyond words! It will take your breath away! I found myself just constantly saying “wow” every 5 minutes; it’s true paradise and serenity.

What did you do before the wedding? How did you get ready? How did you feel in the moments leading up to your elopement?

Monica: We got a condo to stay in Estes Park for a week during our elopement, and it was perfect. My makeup artist came to me, making things very easy. We had family meet us at the condo to see us get ready the last time as an engaged couple! On the day of our elopement, I wasn’t nervous at all. I was so excited; I’ve waited for this day for so long!

How was your experience with Simply Eloped?

Monica: Simply Eloped made it so easy and convenient for us to plan our elopement! I will recommend Simply Eloped to anyone that gets engaged! Our photographer and officiant were down-to-earth people that went above and beyond and made our day perfect!

How did you choose to celebrate your elopement?

Monica:  We had dinner just the two of us at the Stanley Hotel in the wine room of the Cascades Restaurant. We also brought cupcakes from Washington to celebrate with family once we got back to the condo!

What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?

Monica: It’s the best decision you’ll ever make! The intimacy that an elopement brings is unmatched. How many people can say they got to shout their “I do’s” off the top of a mountain! Your wedding is about your love, and the day should revolve around that, not worrying that everyone is having a good time. It should be focused on the bride and groom.
