It was the start of a beautiful thing when Kacie & Taylor met – they both thought they looked better in person than in their dating app photos! There was instant chemistry! Long story short, they decided they would rather invest in a new home together than an expensive wedding. That’s when they found Simply Eloped who helped them have a perfect elopement in Savannah, Georgia. Kacie had an epic wedding gown as she and Tyler eloped in beautiful Chippewa Square. Their families watched as they exchanged their vows under the trees and then celebrated with champagne. Read more to find out how Kacie & Taylor got engaged and decided on Simply Eloped to help them plan their elopement.

How did you meet? What was your first impression of one another?

Kacie: We met on a dating app. My first impression was that he did NOT look at all like his picture. He looked so much better!

Taylor: Damn!

When did you first fall in love? How did you know?

Kacie: We fell for each other pretty quickly. I knew it was love when I always wanted him to have the last bite or the better view or the best piece of pizza. I realized that I thought about his needs first, automatically.

Taylor: For me it was while we were sitting in the woods the first time we went camping. We were talking, laughing…and falling in love.

How did you propose or accept the proposal?

Kacie: We took a  trip to New Orleans. The whole first night he couldn’t sleep. He woke me up so early to go for a walk in a seaside park. After we reached the end of the pier, I laid my head on his chest and pulled back saying, “Babe, your heart is beating SO fast, you need to up your cardio game”. I looked over only to see him down on one knee. I breathed in and forgot to breath out before realizing I had not yet said ‘yes’. I thought it was implied!

What do you love about your partner?

Kacie: I love how funny, weird and smart he is. I love how he loves me so much that it makes me love him more. I love that he never wants me to be anything except exactly who I am. He is pretty easy on the eyes, too!

Taylor: I love her personality and brains, the way she thinks and the way we work through things together as a team. I love everything about her.

What is the greatest strength of your relationship?

Kacie: Our team. We are truly a team that wins together. It is never me versus him. It is always us vs a problem.

Taylor: Definitely our communication.

Why did you decide to elope?

Kacie: We wanted our day to be about us. Not about the stress of planning or throwing some expensive party we wouldn’t even get a chance to enjoy. We just bought the most amazing house that we are making a home for ourselves. I am so glad our money went to that instead of some expensive one time event that would take months to plan and be so quickly over.

How did you find Simply Eloped?

Kacie: A google search confirmed that Simply Eloped was the best. It had the best reviews and vendors that they had vetted. We wouldn’t have to do a ton of our own research.

How did you know Simply Eloped was the right fit for you?

Kacie: We actually found both the officiant and photographer on Instagram, and after several in depth stalking sessions, I was sure they were the right fit for us.

What attracted you to the venue you eloped at?

Kacie: It was close enough to be an easy trip for our parents, but far enough that our friends wouldn’t be expecting an invite! Plus, Savannah is just a beautiful backdrop for an elopement.

What did you do before the wedding? How did you get ready? How did you feel in the moments leading up to your elopement?

Kacie: We took more time planning the honeymoon. We were so excited to take a trip and explore Savannah. The wedding itself sort of snuck on us! We didn’t think we would be so nervous, but the hour before took a lifetime!

Tell us about your experience with Simply Eloped leading up to and on your big day!

Kacie: It was amazing. The vendors all stayed in constant contact with us to help us get there. They both performed so beautifully – Melissa and Karen were just magic. I can’t even imagine another person having done all that they did. They made it perfect for us.

How did you celebrate after your elopement?

Kacie: We had a great family dinner and then spent the next week in a cabin in the woods. We were feeling very thankful we hadn’t listened to everyone who tried to talk us into a big, elaborate wedding.

What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?

Kacie: Go for it! Everyone I know who has eloped has said it feels so much more intimate and special. Most people who have the big event don’t get to enjoy it the way they want and the cost is astronomical. Also, go for the big dress and the exciting suit. It might be an elopement but it’s still your day and you should feel fabulous!!
