Kacee & Chris met in a chat room as teenagers and finally met in person at a music festival. Their story is a young romance that became forever love. Chris proposed at a lookout point overlooking a lake in Kentucky, and Kacee said ‘yes!”. They were thrilled to elope at 3M Curve in Colorado. Kacee wowed with her gorgeous gown and a cathedral veil (love, love, love the jean jacket!). The two of them celebrated their elopement in the breathtaking scenery of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Find out how Simply Eloped impressed this couple who wed with snow-peaked mountains, lush green meadows, and rocky terrain all in one spot!

How did you meet? What was your first impression of one another?

Kacee: We initially met on MySpace in a chat room when we were teenagers. We decided to meet each other in person in 2012 at Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio. Chris moved to Kentucky the following year to be with me, and the rest is history! My first impression of Chris was that he had a beautiful smile and eyes and made me feel at home.

Chris: My first impression of Kacee was her beautiful blue eyes. She shared my sense of humor and was kind.

How did you propose or accept the proposal?

Kacee: First, I said “absolutely yes,” and then I cried. A lot.

Chris: I proposed at a lookout point over Cave Run Lake, which was the first place we went when I visited her in Kentucky for the first time. The proposal was under the stars with an illuminated ring box.

Where did you choose to elope, and why did you choose that destination?

Kacee & Chris: We chose to elope at 3M Curve in Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado. The scenery is breathtaking, and we both have always wanted to visit Colorado, so it was an easy choice!

What attracted you to the venue you chose for your elopement? What were your favorite parts about eloping there?

Kacee: 3M Curve was the perfect venue for me because it allowed us to have the intimate ceremony we were hoping to have. We were able to focus solely on each other at that moment.

Chris: The views are 3M Curve were phenomenal. There were snow-peaked mountains, lush green meadows, and rocky terrain all in one spot.

How would you describe your elopement venue to someone who has never been there?

Kacee & Chris: Beautiful, breathtaking, otherworldly, serene. It is the perfect mixture of snowy mountains, green meadows, wildlife, and rocky terrain. It’s a feeling of being on top of the world and feeling completely at peace.

What did you do before the wedding? How did you get ready? How did you feel in the moments leading up to your elopement?

Kacee & Chris: Before the wedding, there wasn’t anything that we had to do, which was the beautiful part of eloping! We traveled from Kentucky, so other than packing for our trip, there wasn’t anything left to do other than show up and get married!

Kacee: Simply Eloped arranged hair and makeup services as part of the elopement package we chose. The ladies from Bridal Glow in Estes Park arrived at our Airbnb two hours before our ceremony. I was able to show inspiration photos for hair and makeup, and the very talented Kimberly and Laura took care of the rest! My bouquet was delivered before our ceremony. In the moments leading up to our elopement, I felt excited but calm. There wasn’t any stress, and I could NOT wait to be married!

Chris: I was a little stressed that morning because I couldn’t get the perfect knot in my tie. Luckily, our officiant, Brandon Baker, was ready to help and saved the day. In the moments leading up to the elopement, I just felt ready — ready to focus on our vows and our promises to each other and ready to call Kacee my wife.

How was your experience with Simply Eloped?

Kacee & Chris: Simply Eloped met and exceeded every expectation we had for our ceremony by far. Coby arranged everything perfectly and was always available for our questions. She had great recommendations for places to stay, things to see, and places to eat while we were there. Our officiant Brandon, photographer Alicia, and videographer Roo made our day perfect. Brandon took the time to get to know us as a couple and beautifully incorporated personal details into our ceremony. Alicia and Roo created tangible memories that are perfect and that we can hold on to for the rest of our lives.

How did you choose to celebrate your elopement?

Kacee & Chris: We had dinner at Twin Owls Steakhouse right after our ceremony. It was the most delicious food we ever had.

What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?

Kacee & Chris: Do it! The memories we have of our ceremony are nothing but happy. There is not a single thing that we would change about our day. The entire process was stress-free, simple (the Simply Eloped name really does mean simple!), and resulted in a ceremony that quite resembles a fairytale. We couldn’t have asked for more.
