We’re Jess and Austin Drawhorn! Our marriage is rooted in adventuring—together we’ve road tripped to 18 National Parks all over the US. We spend our days off in Colorado climbing, day-tripping to hot springs and hiking to beautiful destinations. We eloped last year in our favorite place in the world: Rocky Mountain National Park.

I don’t think we realized at the time that we were having an “adventure elopement.” It just felt like a normal day for us that we made super special by tying the knot. After photographing and performing over a hundred private elopements and intimate weddings with Simply Eloped, we know we’re not the only people out there who want to bring their adventurous lifestyle to their wedding day!

We’re combining all of our favorite past-times—exploring, hiking, getting out to the mountains, helping people have the happiest day of their lives—into an awesome experience for anyone looking to elope: the Wildflower Adventure Package.

Wildflower Elopement Package

The Wildflower Package is perfect for anyone who would love for their only wedding guests to be elk and chipmunks, for their venue to be a towering mountain peak, or to swap blistery dress shoes for perfectly broken-in hiking boots.

Adventure looks different on everyone. What’s your idea of an ideal Sunday outdoor excursion? Hiking out to an alpine lake in a national park and having the place all to yourselves? Canoeing to an island for campfire s’mores? Or maybe its mountain biking all day and camping out under the stars so you can say your vows at dawn.

Favorite Wildflower Elopements

Guided Driving Tour of Rocky Mountain National Park

We’ll guide you to a handful of our favorite spots in the park! Photos at each location, along with photos of the landscape and wildlife with a picnic lunch along the way (optional add on?). Your wedding ceremony will take place at the amazing precipice of 3M Curve. Awesome scenic spots include Sprague Lake, the Alpine Community trail overlook, Trail Ridge Summit and the Continental Divide. Feel free to invite up to 4 guests, but they’ll have to bring their own vehicle! This package can be tailored to any ability level, but by default will include a few long walks on established paths or trails.

Hike out to Dream Lake

Gear up at the Bear Lake trailhead and hike 1.2 miles to get married at Dream Lake, which has an incredible view of Longs Peak! The trail up is just gorgeous and offers tons of amazing photo ops, especially at sunset. Bonus points if you hike in your wedding attire! This package is available year round, but gets pretty intense in the winter due to heavy snowfalls.
This experience works best with no additional guests.

Kayaking Dillon Reservoir

Lake Dillon is beautifully framed by mountain peaks and speckled with dozens of islands to explore! We’ll pick up kayaks (or canoes!) at the Frisco Marina and paddle out to Sentinel Island for a shore side ceremony, and maybe some hammock lounging, swimming or a campfire with s’mores! Make it a party and invite up to ten friends and family members. Camping may be possible on the islands depending on availability.

Custom Package

Got another adventure in mind? You could exchange your vows at the Great Sand Dunes or under the Royal Arch of the Boulder Flatirons, catch the Maroon Bells at sunrise or hike out on any number of 1-2 mile trails all over Colorado!
