Jessica & Tyler’s Magical Garden of the Gods Elopement in Colorado

The gods must have known Jessica & Tyler were meant for each other because, even though they had attended the same college without meeting, they still found each other. They were very certain about their wedding just being about their commitment to each other and so, surrounded by immediate family only, they eloped at Garden of the Gods in Colorado. The bride and groom, along with their family,  were showstoppers with their jewel toned, vintage wedding style. Jessica was a vision in a turquoise gown with deep green velvet jacket while Tyler brought it all home with his plaid shirt and deep yellow tie. How did you meet? What was your first impression of one another?

Jessica: We met through a mutual friend. We had attended the same college and never met! I thought he was magnetic and had a good sense of humor. 

Tayler: I thought she was fun and artistic.

When did you first fall in love? How did you know?

Jessica: I think we knew when being together made us feel calm and something just felt right. It sort of snuck up on us!

How did you accept the proposal?

Jessica: Tayler proposed while we were snuggling on the couch. It was more of a mutual decision though because we approach our relationship as equals.

What do you love about your partner?

Jessica: I love his sense of humor and his stability, which keeps me grounded.

Tayler: I love her passion, creativity, and ability to make anywhere feel like home.

 

What is the greatest strength of your relationship?

Jessica: Our foundation as good friends makes any argument seem trivial. We know we are meant to be together and that is always the bigger picture for us.

Why did you decide to elope?

Jessica: We knew we wanted to be married and that, at the end of the day, this was a special moment for us. It was not a show of pageantry or status. We loved having immediate family there as support, but at that moment it was only the two of us making a commitment to our lifelong bond.

How did you find Simply Eloped? 

Jessica: Online, after much searching, and we instantly knew Simply Eloped was the perfect way to go!

Jessica: As full time working professionals and graduate students, Simply Eloped made sense as we knew everything was being taken care of for us. We could focus on our busy lives while still having a beautiful day planned!

Jessica: Garden of the Gods is a magical place with a magnetic quality and breathtaking views. The vivid colors present, and the surrounding landscape, made it an easy choice!

What did you do before the wedding? How did you get ready? How did you feel in the moments leading up to your elopement?

Jessica: We each went with our respective families and got ready with them. I felt nervous and excited and he felt as calm as ever. We both listened to some favorite songs before the ceremony. 

Tell us about your experience with Simply Eloped leading up to and on your wedding day!

Jessica: Great communication, quick responses and updates, and kind representatives.

How did you celebrate after your elopement?

Jessica: We sat and took in the views around Garden of the Gods with a bottle of champagne, then went out to a four course fondue restaurant with the family. Afterwards, we returned to the Airbnb, changed into sweatpants, and watched TV….we were exhausted!! The final hours of the night are confidential!! 

What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?

Jessica: It will be a relief that one of the most beautiful moments of your life has been orchestrated for you. All you have to do is make a few easy decisions and then show up!
