Kara & Roman’s Awe Inspiring Ceremony at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs
We can’t imagine a better place to elope than some place called Garden of the Gods! Kara & Roman met at work and they found out that they love to laugh together. Originally, they had planned their wedding to be just the two of them. In the end, they happily decided to begin their life long adventures with close friends and family surrounding them. Kara & Roman each got ready with their ‘party’ and met at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. The sophisticated look of this elopement was as impressive as the stunning mountains behind them. Find out more about how they got engaged and had Simply Eloped plan this beautiful ceremony in an awe inspiring national park.
How did you meet? What was your first impression of one another?
Kara: We met while working at a retail Verizon store in Austin, Texas. I didn’t really have a huge first impression since we were at work. I thought he was nice and helpful. It can be a lot when you first start a new job, so I was trying to learn as much as possible. He made me laugh a lot with his silly jokes, which is a huge win in my books.
Roman: My first impression was that she was an adventurer and loved to laugh. I knew, instantly, that I wanted to get to know her more.
How did you accept the proposal?
Kara: Roman proposed at the Botanical Garden in Denver as we were strolling around the Blossoms of Light. It was the easiest ‘yes’ of my life!
Where did you choose to elope and why did you choose that destination?
Kara: Garden of the Gods is a beautiful place. We once saw a couple taking wedding portraits there, and we thought that it would be a beautiful experience for ourselves, family and friends. We originally planned to elope without anyone there, just the two of us. However, when Covid-19 hit and took away the ability to celebrate before the elopement with everyone, we decided on a small ceremony with immediate family members and a few of our closest friends who have been a part of our story from the beginning.
What attracted you to the venue you eloped at? What were your favorite parts about eloping there?
Kara: The nature! The amazing and unique rock formations! Everything about the Garden of the Gods is breathtaking. It was the perfect spot!
How would you describe your elopement venue to someone who has never been there?
Kara::A beautiful park in Colorado Springs with red rock formations surrounding the entire area. Pikes Peak is in the background.
What did you do before the wedding? How did you get ready? How did you feel in the moments leading up to your elopement?
Kara: We spent the night with our friends! The girls all got together and did their thing, while the guys got together and did their thing. It was so much fun! We got ready in separate hotel rooms. The whole day we were counting down the minutes until we would see each other at the park.
How was your experience with Simply Eloped?
Kara: Very easy and comfortable.
How did you choose to celebrate your elopement?
Kara: We had a party at a local brewery!
What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?
Kara: It’s not selfish and totally worth it. The feeling of making your own decisions, without input from others, is very freeing. It made our day even better than what we had ever imagined. You get to decide on your own traditions and how to go about the day. It was the best experience we have ever had!
