Lauren & Daniel’s Whirlwind Elopement at Lake Tahoe
Lauren & Daniel met at a country bar and totally fell for each other. They had a magical proposal trip at Disneyland, and everything seemed to be going perfectly. Covid-19 put a stop to their big wedding day. The couple could only see uncertainty ahead, so they decided to elope. Lauren & Daniel, with the help of Simply Eloped, wed at Emerald Bay State Park in Lake Tahoe with less than 24 hours of planning. They put a new twist on a whirlwind elopement! Finally, everything fell in place as they exchanged romantic vows in the fresh snow. These newlyweds had an intimate elopement that took all the stress away from the big wedding.
How did you meet? What was your first impression of one another?
Lauren: We met at a local country bar. I thought Daniel was super sweet and a total gentleman. (Looking like Nick Jonas is a huge plus too!)
Daniel: I thought she was beautiful, fun, smart, and a great time to be around.
When did you first fall in love? How did you know?
Lauren: It was on a trip to Disneyland. We were both watching the fireworks, and we just knew that we were meant to be.
How did you propose or accept the proposal?
Lauren: Daniel proposed during our last trip to Disneyland before Covid. It was in November, so all of the Christmas and winter decorations were up. We were taking a picture in front of the castle after the fireworks. It was truly magical!
What do you love about your partner?
Lauren: I love Daniel’s personality and humor. He never fails to make me laugh, even when I’m having a bad day. He’s always there for me and continues to be my number one supporter.
Daniel: I love Lauren’s personality, her contagious joy of happiness, and her spontaneity. I love her overall way of life.
What is the greatest strength of your relationship?
Lauren: We are tough and understanding of one another.
Why did you decide to elope?
Lauren: One word: Covid. Our big wedding was planned for May. In February, we had no idea what life would be like in May, and planning was getting harder. So we decided just to get married.
How did you find Simply Eloped?
Lauren: Google search of Special Elopements in South Lake Tahoe.
How did you know Simply Eloped was the right fit for you?
Lauren: Simply Eloped made wedding planning extremely easy! They had everything put together for us. Starting from the first conversation, Keely was super helpful and nice about answering all our questions.
What attracted you to the venue you chose for your elopement?
Lauren: We consider South Lake Tahoe to be one of our favorite getaways. It’s absolutely beautiful and full of activities.
What did you do before the wedding? How did you get ready? How did you feel in the moments leading up to your elopement?
Lauren: We reached out and set up our wedding on a Friday and got married the next day! To say it was a whirlwind is an understatement. However, we both felt this was the best decision when we had our first look in the snow.
Tell us about your experience with Simply Eloped leading up to and on your big day!
Lauren: Keely is amazing!!! She answered every question I had at any hour of the day. She planned everything at such short notice (literally 24-hour notice). She made everything so easy. We feel like we didn’t have any wedding stress on our big day! Keely just sent us a pinpoint of our location and told us to meet our officiant and photographer at a specific time. So stress-free!!
How did you choose to celebrate your elopement?
Lauren: We went to dinner and did some gambling!
What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?
Lauren: Just do it!! As much as we wanted a big, traditional wedding we do not have any regrets. Our photos are absolutely beautiful, and we couldn’t have gotten the same photos with a traditional wedding. Our special day was truly unforgettable. It was so intimate and romantic.
