Getting eloped in Las Vegas was always a dream of my wife (almost as much as it was a dream to marry her) and we could not have had a better experience than we did with Simply Eloped. The process was easy and we were always kept in the loop and had amazing communication with our vendors. You guys literally took care of everything and personalized the elopement of our dreams from the location down to booking the perfect vendors. We will be talking about this forever!! Thank you!!

I just want to say I appreciate that it was possible to do what we did. We made the decision to elope three weeks prior to our marriage date and was impressed with the fact that Simply Eloped was able to secure a location, officiant, and photographer. I didn’t think that would be possible in such a short time. Eloping on the Vegas strip was the last thing I wanted and Valley of Fire (although Vegas adjacent) was private, intimate, and felt like an entirely different world. I loved it. A friend of mine never considered eloping and now they are looking at your locations in New York for their wedding. Thank you again.

There’s nothing like the desert! Of all the places I’ve traveled in the world, my heart is always pulled back to our gorgeous sunsets, red rocks, and gorgeous cacti. It’s such a unique, one of a kind landscape and I love how every couple falls in love when they see it for the first time!

What’s your favorite elopement venue in Las Vegas?

Probably Valley of Fire! It truly does look like another planet and I love seeing my couples faces when I walk them to the ceremony site. It’s definitely one of those places that takes your breath away.

What do you think makes eloping in Las Vegas so special?

Las Vegas is very diverse and offers different vibes and landscapes packed into one exciting elopement date! You can begin your wedding day with an artesian breakfast within the cultured Downtown Arts District, then zoom over to our scenic and peaceful deserts for your private marriage ceremony all before hitting the Strip to celebrate under neon lights! The balance of having a calm and centered ceremony within nature, paired with the raucous energy of the Strip afterward, is ideal!

What’s a fun fact about you?

I chew breath-freshening gum till I reach the altar…and then I swallow it! Lucky for me, no gum trees have ever sprouted in my belly!

How to elope in Las Vegas

Your Las Vegas elopement doesn’t have to be all lights, gambling, and Elvis Presley impersonators—our favorite venues for eloping in Vegas are outdoors and absolutely stunning! Be it the red rock of Valley of Fire or the historic vibe of Nelson Ghost Town, there are so many options that allow you to enjoy the glitz and glam of the Las Vegas Strip and the natural landscape that surrounds Sin City. Read on for our favorite small wedding venues in Vegas, to see how much a Vegas elopement will cost you, and all the other details you need for planning the perfect Las Vegas wedding. If you’re even considering eloping in Vegas, this guide is for you.

What are the best places to elope in Las Vegas?

Because there are so many options, it can be a challenge to figure out where to elope in Las Vegas. Our personal preference is looking outside of the strip and the chapels for a Vegas desert wedding.

Just a short drive from Las Vegas you’ll find Nevada’s oldest park, the 40,000-acre Valley of Fire. We love this elopement location for its red sandstone outcrops with gray and tan limestone rocks, all of which make for extraordinary wedding photos. The park also contains ancient, petrified trees and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years. If you’re looking to host a small wedding in Las Vegas, this location typically allows up to 50 guests but due to Covid-19, that number is currently capped at 16. Permits are required for this location. Or, consider eloping in Nelson Ghost Town, an abandoned gold mine town complete with an old gas station, wooden buildings, antique cars, and old machines scattered throughout the property. Although you can elope wherever you want in town, we recommend committing to each other under the stained glass pergola among the cacti on the town’s edge. Although typically up to 26 guests are allowed at this location, that number has been reduced to 16 due to Covid-19. Do note, the paths here are rocky but easily maneuverable.

The Retreat on Charleston Peak is a small hotel that has a peaceful outdoor terrace with canyon and mountain views perfect for your Vegas elopement. Although it’s beautiful year round, even with snow, this mountain location offers a great escape from the heat of Las Vegas summers. The allowed number of guests ranges from 10-40 depending on which package you choose, although with Covid-19, that number is capped at 16. Just three miles from downtown Vegas is Springs Preserve, with 180-acres of attractions including a museum, concert venue, walking trails, and historic photo gallery. The venue also offers a desert botanical garden, filled with lots of small enclaves perfect for your intimate wedding ceremony. A cultural institution designed to commemorate Las Vegas’ dynamic history, this venue is currently closed due to Covid-19.

When is the best time of year to elope in Vegas?

Some tourist destinations have peak and shoulder seasons, but Las Vegas is the exception to this rule. Vegas is busy year-round, so any time of year is a good time to elope in Vegas. Winter—from the end of December through March—will always be milder in weather, so if you’re not a fan of the super hot, this is a great time of year to visit Vegas. Summer days can get incredibly hot, so if you choose to elope during this season, we recommend staying somewhere with access to a pool.

What time of day should you elope in Las Vegas?

Las Vegas can get hot and we aren’t talking about the casino floor. No matter what time of year you’re planning to elope in Vegas, we highly recommend choosing either early/late morning or early evening for your ceremony time. Daytime temps in the summer can be unbearable for more than fifteen minutes, with peak temperatures ranging from 90-110-degrees. The direct sun in the afternoon creates harsh shadows which aren’t flattering for your portraits. In addition, you don’t want to roast in the hot desert on your wedding day! We definitely recommend shooting for the hours with soft light and gentle sun.

How much does it cost to elope in Las Vegas?

You may notice that hotels do charge extra, sometimes double, for Friday and Saturdays so if you’re looking to save a couple of bucks, elope during the week instead of the weekend. That being said, there are always deals to be had in Las Vegas, so definitely shop around. Staying just off the main strip or on the old strip will also save you money. Although it’s not necessary to rent a car while in Vegas you’ll still want to factor in the cost of Lyfts and Ubers. And if you’re planning on eloping at Valley of Fire State Park, definitely ask your driver to wait until your ceremony is over or consider hiring a car—although it’s easy to book a ride out to the park, it can be near impossible to catch one heading back to town.

Our Las Vegas elopement packages run from $400 for our most basic ceremony (tailored location advice, a custom wedding script, and the enactment of the ceremony itself) to $3,800 for our top package (which includes photography, videography, flowers, hair and makeup, and a ceremony coordinator). In between, we offer a variety of elopement packages at every price point, with a ton of flexibility as well as à la carte options. We highly recommend booking Las Vegas elopement packages that are all inclusive since booking all services together tends to be more cost-efficient than booking individually.

How do I make sure my Las Vegas elopement is legal?

Las Vegas is one of the easiest places on the planet to obtain a marriage license! All you’ll need is a form of identification, such as a driver’s License, military ID, or passport, as well as $77. If either of you were previously married, you’ll need the date your divorce as well as the city and state your divorce decree was filed in.

Do you need a witness to marry in Las Vegas?

You’ll need at least one witness present at your ceremony, which your photographer can easily act as (since your officiant cannot also act as a witness).

Can you just walk into a chapel in Vegas and get married?

As soon as you get your marriage license, you can immediately get married in Las Vegas! So yes, technically there are chapel’s you can just walk into, but where’s the fun in that? Ensure your Vegas elopement stands out from the millions of others by choosing to say “I Do” at one of our awe-inspiring outdoor locations.

Where should I stay for my Las Vegas elopement?

Every hotel and casino has a completely different vibe, so where you stay will depend on who you are as a couple! Of course, your budget will also be a factor. Still, you can’t go wrong with something classic like Caesars Palace or the luxe, modern Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

How far in advance should I start planning my Las Vegas elopement?

Las Vegas is known for spontaneous elopements, so feel free to plan with as little advanced notice as a week. In general, however, we see most of our couples planning with three to nine months advance notice, especially because there are more aspects of planning than just your elopement ceremony. You’ll need to determine where you’ll be staying, how to get to Las Vegas, and what kinds of concerts or activities you’ll be doing while you’re in the area. If you’re a real planner, we can book you as far as a few years in advance. No matter the timeline of your Vegas elopement, we can accommodate.

How do I find the right Las Vegas elopement vendors?

We contract with the best Las Vegas elopement photographers in the business, so you’ve come to the right place! Since Las Vegas is the hometown of elopements, there is a whole range of styles and types of elopement vendors. Once you are assigned one of our vendors, they’ll reach out and you can get to know one another, planning your ideal ceremony together. If you’d rather take a hands-off approach, our vendors are veterans of the business and have no problem taking the reins!

Read the stories of real couples who eloped in Las Vegas!

When you think of a Vegas elopement, your mind likely goes to little drive-through chapels, glittering lights, and maybe an Elvis impersonator. But there’s so much more to a Las Vegas elopement than a wedding on the Strip, and Megan and Keith’s desert ceremony totally proves it! After realizing they wanted to get married without the stress of planning a traditional wedding – and knew they wanted to have their wedding location double as a honeymoon spot – the pair tied the knot at Red Rock Canyon on June 28, 2020. Scroll through Megan and Keith’s Las Vegas elopement photos – and their love story – below!

How did you find Simply Eloped?

I had found simply eloped online looking at options we had. And Simply Eloped had so many positive reviews!

How did you know Simply Eloped was the right fit for you?

The staff and everyone who we had come in contact with was so awesome making sure everything was easy – it was a really easy process!

What attracted you to the venue you eloped at?

We loved the view, we are very adventurous people and love enjoying some beautiful scenery!

What activities did you do before the wedding? How did you prepare? How did you feel leading up to the moments of your Vegas elopement

We just kind of explored, shopped, and played some slot machines before we had to go back to our room to get ready, It wasn’t a nervous feeling – it was more excitement than anything knowing that we were about to spend our lives together.

Tell us about your experience with Simply Eloped leading up to and on your big day!

They were so friendly and so professional and answered all of our questions very promptly. Our photos turned out great. They all went above and beyond to make our day so special.

Emily & Rodney wanted to celebrate in style. After all, they had waited ten years for this day! They wanted an epic elopement ceremony and a great place to celebrate their wedding. They chose Las Vegas and Simply Eloped to create their unique vision. The ceremony took place at Valley of Fire State Park, where the sun reflected off the red rocks around them. Afterward, the newlyweds took in the sights and sounds of the city. Read on to find out more about this magical desert elopement.

What attracted you to the venue you chose for your elopement? What were your favorite parts about eloping there?

Emily: The beautiful red rock and desert landscape is what attracted us to Valley of Fire. There are no words for the beauty of this location. My favorite parts about eloping there were being secluded and being able to just focus on us, the incredible photo opportunities, and exploring the park afterward. That first moment we saw the red rock after entering the park is one I’ll never forget.

What did you do before the wedding? How did you get ready? How did you feel in the moments leading up to your elopement?

Emily: We planned our wedding within a week, so we didn’t have much time to prepare. On the day of the wedding, Kailey from Pink Chique met me at my hotel and did my hair and makeup. She also filmed our first look moment and made that morning so incredibly special for us. I was so nervous and excited in the moments leading up to the ceremony. It was so surreal that after ten years together, we were finally getting married (on our anniversary)!

How did you choose to celebrate your elopement?

Emily: We had dinner at the Top of the World restaurant at the Strat and then went to watch the Fountains at the Bellagio.
