If you are looking for a true country music wedding ceremony, it doesn’t get better than a honky-tonk Nashville elopement. But, the Music City scene is a lot more than country. Every genre has a musical presence somewhere in the city 365 days of the year. Music festivals are pretty much a constant, and you can immerse yourself in the history of music in the city. Tours of every sort wait for you, and there is even a Walk of Fame. If the two of you are music lovers, you will be writing your song when you elope in Nashville, Tennessee!
A progressive bastion in the heart of the American south, Nashville is Tennessee’s capital and most populous city. A small wedding or elopement in Nashville is ideal for the couple that loves vibrant nightlife, American history, and excellent food. Nashville elopements aren’t adventure elopements—they’re classy affairs for city lovers that want a stunning wedding on a budget. Known as Music City, Nashville is the home to a stretch of downtown known as Music Row: the Ryman Auditorium (aka the “Mother Church of Country Music”), the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame, and the Grand Ole Opry. Add in the countless live music venues and country music stars that call Nashville home, and you’re sure to be taken by the city’s unique rhythm. And it’s not just music: the Belmont Mansion, historic plantations, and numerous parks mean you’ll never be without something to do.
From natural backdrops to pastoral scenes to urban glam, there’s a Nashville venue to suit every small wedding and elopement!
Despite being close to downtown Nashville, Drakewood Farm feels like you’re way out in the country. Forty acres of rolling hills surround an 1850s mansion, three barns, and a cedar grove, ideal for couples who want an intimate, wooded ceremony site without having to go far. If you’re interested in hosting a small wedding in Nashville, this venue typically allows for up to 40 people, although with Covid-19 that number is currently 16.
The historic Cheekwood Estate & Gardens has 55 acres of lush gardens with multiple locations, all of which allow for up to 10 guests – perfect for a Nashville elopement. The sprawling grounds boast a nice mix of art and nature, while the stately, Georgian-style mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places. Do note, it can be tricky to book this location more than 60 days out.
Another multi-purpose event space is White Avenue Studio, located in Nashville proper, just minutes from downtown. This event space is great for either an indoor or outdoor intimate ceremony, with a garden area and an indoor space that boast high-vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light. Think of this venue as a blank canvas to bring your small wedding day dreams to life. This venue allows up to 20 guests usually, but with Covid-19 that number is currently capped at 16.
Lastly, there’s Iris Garden: many locals don’t even know about this city garden, which sits on the grounds of the Ellington Agricultural Center. If you want to catch the flowers in full bloom, book your elopement from April through June. Although this venue isn’t currently open due to Covid-19, when it is open up to 20 guests are allowed.
Despite being a big city, a Nashville wedding can be very affordable, especially if you elope! Many couples choose to save money by driving to Nashville, staying in Airbnbs, and eating at the city’s famous fast-casual dining establishments. Note that during certain city-wide events, such as the Country Music Festival in June or AmericanaFest in September, prices on hotels tend to rise. Eloping in Nashville does have a slightly higher price point than other Tennessee locations like Gatlinburg, but even if you go all out on your elopement, it’s still going to be much more affordable than a traditional ceremony. Our most popular Nashville venues require rental fees in addition to our elopement packages, so you’ll want to budget accordingly.

Nashville gets all four seasons without being too severe, making it a great place for an intimate wedding any time of year! Winter is the low season in Nashville, so if you’re looking to avoid crowds, November to March can be a great time to elope. While Nashville winters are relatively mild, temperatures do range from 30 to 50 degrees. In December, beautiful Christmas decorations adorn the Opryland Hotel and Belle Meade Plantation. From April through October, the weather in Nashville averages around 70-90 degrees during the day, with the summer months of July and August being the hottest. July sees the most tourists, while mid-October is the best time for fall colors. Humidity and thunderstorms are always possible, but Nashville is more prone to them in the spring and autumn.
Don’t forget you are going to need a Tennessee marriage license! We can help you through the legalities. You will need to fill out a marriage license application online ahead of time. Once you arrive, the two of you will appear in front of the Davidson County Clerk with two pieces of government ID. That’s it!
The normal cost of $99.50 is slashed to $39.50 if you present a Certificate of Completion in a Premarital Counseling course. We love that Nashville folks just want you to be happy!
To make your Nashville marriage legal, you’ll need to obtain a Tennessee marriage license from the Davidson County Clerk’s office. Couples must apply online before visiting the County Clerk’s office. You and your partner will also need to appear in-person at 700 2nd Ave South, Suite 101 (8:00am–4:00pm, Monday through Friday) in order to pick up the license. If you’re a U.S. citizen with a Social Security Number, you’ll need to bring along proof of it (such as your SSN card or a tax document with your SSN listed). Although you’ll also need to present proof of age, a passport or birth certificate does not work for this purpose. The fee is $99.50 to get your license but Tennessee residents can save $60 by completing a marriage preparation course. Marriage licenses are valid for 30 days.
Yes! In Tennessee, couples can get married the same day they obtain their marriage license.
Witnesses are not needed for the marriage to be recognized in Tennessee, although there is room on the marriage license for one witness to sign.
Drakewood Farm is a little north of Nashville, so if you’re getting married there, we recommend Hyatt Place or The Russel. There are also some wonderful and unique hotels in Nashville proper! Check out The Timothy Demonbreun House, Kimpton Aertson Hotel, and The 404 Hotel, famous for their “invisible service”.
Besides music, Nashville is also known for its amazing dining. Try Nashville’s famous hot chicken at Hattie B’s, or take in a show with your dinner at Skull’s Rainbow Room, a 1948 speakeasy-style lounge. For large parties, we recommend 5th & Taylor, while The Chef & I on Ninth is our pick for fine dining. We like Milk and Honey any time of day, as well as Sinema or Fenwick’s 300 for a celebratory brunch.

1. We don't believe a wedding has to be stressful. There is far less to coordinate (and we take on most of that planning anyhow), and your realm of responsibility consists of making a few decisions and getting your marriage license. It's hard to beat a wedding that is actually...wait for it...relaxing!
2. Cost-conscious: Let's be honest, there is so much uncertainty right now! Economic recession? Inflation? Rising cost of living? Save your money for a honeymoon or buying a house and still have a ceremony you'll remember for the rest of your lives.
3. A Ceremony should be About YOU and YOUR LOVE: When did a wedding turn into a party for everyone else? We personalize every aspect of your experience – from the vendors to the vows. We'll even cry real tears with you. We're here to celebrate the core of what makes a wedding ceremony special: you making a lifetime commitment to the one you love. That's a big deal – and we treat it as such.
1. Flowers by Palette We have arrangements based on a color palette, which means the types of flowers may not be exactly as pictured, but the colors and arrangement style will match. You can explore our options for Flowers by Palette here (excluding Hawaii).
2. Hawaiian Arrangements Hawaii is a unique destination, and we have our stunning tropical arrangements for ceremonies taking place in Hawaii. You can view these arrangements here. Please note that these arrangements are only available in Hawaii.
As soon as you book our services, we get to work! We'll immediately introduce you to your Personal Elopement Planner, who is kind of like your best friend between the date you book and the day you elope! Your Pep will be ensuring every step of the process is smooth and delightful. They will introduce you to your team, answer any questions you have, put your schedule and invoice together, and much more!
We'll also begin the process of personalizing. You'll work with your officiant to ensure your ceremony matches what you envision and dream of. Your photographer will ensure they understand the kind of shots or photos you're hoping for. Your hair & makeup artist will inquire about the style you're going for with your hair and makeup. Your dashboard is also customized to meet your needs.
We offer many tools to help you feel at ease about your decision to book Simply Eloped, including your personalized Elopement Checklist, your marriage license guide, your Wedding Page, and more! You can even make installment payments on your invoice at 0% APR. Weeks prior to your ceremony, we'll send your itinerary with all the details you and your guests need. Your team will meet at your ceremony site, and the rest, as they say, is history.
First off, know that every moment of your elopement day, we are available to you for whatever you need! We're very prompt on timing with floral delivery, hair & makeup, etc.
Your team will always meet at your venue prior to your ceremony time to ensure everyone is collected, introduced, and ready for a gorgeous ceremony right on time. Your officiant will kick off your ceremony and ensure that all of your requests are beautifully exhibited in your personalized ceremony. It's important to note that your dedicated Personal Elopement Planner will not be present at the ceremony, but will definitely be accessible by phone or text for your day-of needs.
Ceremonies generally last 15-20 minutes, which will then kick off into your portrait session with your photographer (if you booked one with us). The main task you need to be mindful of on your big day is bringing your marriage license, and we do the rest! 🌼👰🤵
