West Martello Tower

History and horticulture here! The tower was first constructed by the U.S. Armed Forces in 1822 when the Navy surveyed Key West. Later, the tower was a symbol of defiance as Key West was the only southern city allied with the Federal government during the Civil War. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, the gorgeous tower grounds offer a gazebo and several cozy enclaves with ocean views and garden tropical plants. Venue rental fee applies.
