When you’re in love, all you really need for the perfect ceremony is your partner-in-crime. Sabrina and Chris chose to have beautiful, intimate elopement in Colorado without all the bells and whistles (and stress) that often comes with a wedding ceremony. Spending quality time together is the core of their relationship, and they knew the best way to honor their union was to keep it between the two of them. With the understanding and support of their family, they were able to spend their special day enjoying what mattered most – their love. Read more about their Colorado Elopement at Bear Lake!

How did you meet? What was your first impression of each other?

I added him randomly on Facebook! He didn’t want a girlfriend, but I kept pushing and being there and finally after two months I became his first girlfriend in 7 years!!

How did you fall in love? How did you know?

Sabrina: When he interacted with my children.

Chris: When we were at Disney in Epcot watching the fireworks together.

How did you propose or accept the proposal?

Chris took me to a nice dinner and was acting strange all evening. I left to go to the bathroom, and when I got back the waitress brought dessert (which I never eat) and my dream ring was in the dessert!

Discover your dream venue! Get started.

What do you love about your partner?

I love Chris’s dedication and love for his family.

What is the greatest strength of your relationship?

God.

Why did you decide to elope?

Being intimate and being one together means a lot to us. Sharing this moment with just us and no one else meant so much more. You can take 1,000 pictures and congratulate someone after they say, “I do,” but you will never fully experience the togetherness of being just the two of you unless you elope. I didn’t miss the cake or the pictures or the tons of family (who’d be bored anyway). I enjoyed walking to see my soon-to-be husband standing there waiting for JUST ME. I didn’t have to share him after or say, “Babe, just one more picture with grandma K.” Instead, I got to say, “Babe, we just got married and no one knows but us…let’s celebrate together, just US.” That was the best and most amazing part! Yes, I have children, and yes, some asked questions but the positivity from my kids after we came home and told them…WOW! They didn’t care we did whether we told them, they were just so happy to have Chris as their Dad and nothing else mattered 💙

How did you find Simply Eloped?

Google.

How did you know Simply Eloped was the right fit for you?

From start to finish they were absolutely amazing! Quick to respond and answer our questions.

What attracted you to a Colorado elopement?

We LOVE Colorado!

What activities did you do before the wedding? How did you prepare? How did you feel leading up to the moments of your elopement?

Honestly, we separated & took time with God and really thanked Him for all we have and all He’s giving to us. Then I got to do hair and make up while he did “guy stuff.”

Tell us about your experience with Simply Eloped leading up to and on your big day!

Everything was perfect! Truly perfect! Every step of the way they asked questions, emailed, called – everything. It was a breeze leading up to the event.

How did you celebrate after?

We went and had a nice dinner in Estes park and then went to our AirBnB and enjoyed the hot tub in the snow with a fire!

What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?

Truly think about it. We had some family get upset because they didn’t get invited or weren’t told about it, but at the end of the day it isn’t about them it’s about Y’ALL! Y’alls happiness, y’alls ever-after! Y’all are what makes the foundation strong and stick together, no one else. Take your soon-to-be spouse and elope with them. Forget the rest because any true-hearted person will always encourage & support y’all! Take it from us… we told NO ONE, and my mom was over the moon about the news. His family took it harder than I expected, but after explaining the meaning and how we felt about eloping, it made sense to them. So truly think about it, and if you do it alone just take 72 hours and soak in the YOU time before announcing it to anyone because that YOU time TOGETHER is what forms that bond between husband and wife.
