Malori and Lake’s ‘meet cute’ was when he came for a haircut in the barbershop she owns. Cut to love scene (pun intended)! There was instant chemistry and, to make a long story shorter, they decided to stay true to their roots and elope. Colorado was the place they chose to tie the knot and serendipity played its part when they found Lily Lake (both names in the family!). Malori and Lake’s winter wedding in the spectacular Rocky Mountains is filled with epic scenery and lots of love. Read on to find out more about how these two knew they were each other’s ‘forever’ and how Simply Eloped came into their lives.

How did you meet? What was your first impression of one another?

Malori: We met when Lake came in for a haircut. I own a small barbershop with a friend and Lake just so happened to work around the corner and googled where he could get a cut. That led him right to my shop! I remember thinking ‘oh…he’s cute!’. We chatted during the haircut and found we had a lot in common. Instant friends! I think he liked me right off the bat and I have confirmed that he called his best friend to tell him about me.

When did you first fall in love? How did you know?

Malori: Loving him was easy. He’s just so sweet. The first gift he ever bought me was a small jar of jam that said, ‘you’re my jam’, for Valentine’s Day. It is probably the corniest but cutest gift I have ever received. He’s just my favorite. It didn’t take me long to realize I was being blessed with my person.

How did you accept the proposal?

Malori: He was so nervous. He wanted it to happen on a walk, but it totally happened in the middle of our living room during kid bath time! It was the cutest thing.

What do you love about your partner?

Malori: I love all of the things. He’s considerate, a team player, kind, compassionate, hard-working, supportive, hilarious, gentle, adventurous, and the best cook! I could probably keep going…LOL!

What is the greatest strength of your relationship?

Malori: We can talk about anything. Even if we are angry, we know how to still keep talking to each other without being jerks to each other.

Why did you decide to elope?

Malori: It’s definitely our style! We are simple people when it comes to many things, so something small, with just our closest loved ones, suited us.

How did you find Simply Eloped?

Malori: I found Simple Eloped on Google.

How did you know Simply Eloped was the right fit for you?

Malori: Everything was customizable, and the price was something we could afford.

What attracted you to the venue you eloped at?

Malori: The fact that it was in Colorado (my favorite place) was called Lily Lake. My baby girl’s name is Lily, and my husband’s name is Lake. It just seemed too perfect.

Tell us about your experience with Simply Eloped leading up to and on your special day?

Malori: They were great! They checked in to make sure we didn’t need anything else. I always got timely responses to my questions.

How did you celebrate after your elopement?

Malori: We stayed in Colorado for the week and hung out with friends and family.

What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?

Malori: Do it! There is something special about being able to be in the moment. Also, it is a great way to do a destination wedding. They can be as traditional or as non-traditional as you want!
