Sweeping Views at Brooke & Kyle’s Romantic Colorado Elopement

Brooke & Kyle are the embodiment of the saying ‘you will know when you meet the right one’. Their elopement, due to Covid-19, is the first step in their wedding journey. They plan a large reception once everyone can be together again. So Brooke & Kyle’s special day was a sweeping affair just for them. They were thrilled to wed at the top of the world at Lost Gulch in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The mountain views are seriously epic and go on and on as far as the eye can see! Brooke’s lovely floral gown and white winter stole are so romantic and we can feel the love as they exchanged personalized vows. Read on to hear how these two feel about each other, their proposal and their Simply Eloped ceremony.

How did you meet? What was your first impression of one another? 

Kyle: We met at a restaurant through my sister. It was in passing as we were eating at separate tables. But, my goodness, was I impressed as to how she carried herself. What a beauty! Eight years go by and we are casual. Next thing we know…we are inseparable. I didn’t feel complete without her next to me. Since that moment, we’ve stood by each other’s side through everything. She’s the better half. You would have to meet us to understand!

When did you first fall in love? How did you know?

Kyle: My parents have been together for thirty nine years and they always told me the usual, “you will know when you meet her”. I didn’t believe them for 33 years – until I was with Brooke. She brings out the best qualities in me and everyone in her presence. She has taught me a new way to love. Something you can’t just say with words. Really, it’s true, when you know…you KNOW!!!

How did you propose? 

Kyle: We love walking in the park and ‘people watching’. She knew the question was coming and she didn’t want anyone else around. Little to her surprise, I took her to the park and we walked to a certain area with our town in the background (Fort Worth). I had my close friend, who is an amateur photographer, hide from us. Brooke asked me, “Are you going to ask me to marry you?”. I replied, “Well, yeah!”. My friend popped out and started taking photos, as I got down on one knee and asked her to make me the luckiest man alive.

Little did she know that her family and closest friends (including her dog!) were cheering us on unseen. She was over the MOON!

What do you love about your partner?

Kyle: How she makes me and everyone else around FEEL. She reminds me of that quote from Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. She truly gives me the joy I never thought I deserved.

What is the greatest strength of your relationship?

Kyle: No matter what, we always say, “At minimum, we will be fine”. This is true, no matter what! We always reassure each other, through kind words and gestures, that we love one another.

Why did you decide to elope?

Kyle: COVID-19…the big wedding is next year with all the family and friends. We really want to celebrate our love with everyone.

What did you do before the wedding? How did you get ready? How did you feel leading up to the moments of your elopement?

Kyle: We had breakfast at the hotel and we had champagne and berries delivered…twice! Brooke had her hair and makeup done, while I drank champagne and watched The Office on TV. Then we rolled up the mountain, feeling and looking fresh to death! It felt amazing all day…

Tell us about your experience with Simply Eloped leading up to and on your special day.

Kyle: Prompt, helpful and so kind on all fronts.

How did you celebrate after eloping?

Kyle: Afterwards, we went back to the hotel, changed and went to dinner at Steakhouse No. 316 in Aspen. We ate like a new King of Queen of the town! We then passed out at the hotel before 10:30pm. It was perfect.

What words of encouragement do you have for those considering eloping?

Kyle: First, be sure it’s not because of anything besides pure love! Don’t let the pressure of anyone tell you to do this or do that. Make it special and simple, because this will be your human for the rest of your life. Be selfish, you deserve it! Also, choose Simply Eloped if you don’t want to worry.
