The first step to eloping in Nevada is to figure out what kind of vibe you’re seeking in your destination! We offer Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe for our Nevada elopements. Let us know if you prefer vast desert expanses backed by red rock mountains or dense forests alongside a sprawling lake. We’re here to help you determine which destination is best for you!
Because there are so many options, it can be a challenge to figure out where to elope in Nevada. Once you decide between Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, we’ll help you ascertain the perfect venue for what you seek on your big day.
For example, Just a short drive from Las Vegas you’ll find Nevada’s oldest park, the 40,000-acre Valley of Fire [insert venue url]. We love this elopement location for its red sandstone outcrops with gray and tan limestone rocks, all of which make for extraordinary wedding photos. The park also contains ancient, petrified trees and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years. If you’re looking to host a small wedding in Las Vegas, this location typically allows up to 50 guests but due to Covid-19, that number is currently capped at 16. Permits are required for this location. Or, consider eloping in Nelson Ghost Town [insert venue url], an abandoned gold mine town complete with an old gas station, wooden buildings, antique cars, and old machines scattered throughout the property. Although you can elope wherever you want in town, we recommend committing to each other under the stained glass pergola among the cacti on the town’s edge. Although typically up to 26 guests are allowed at this location. Do note, the paths here are rocky but easily maneuverable.
In Lake Tahoe, we’re particularly fond of spots like Emerald Bay State Park [insert venue url] – a blue-turquoise bay encircled by glistening mountain peaks that offers a stunning view of the bay and Fannett Island – and Logan Shoals [insert venue url], which features a private rock enclave just off the accessible path that’s perfect for an intimate ceremony. There are many other spots that are beautiful and wonderful in Lake Tahoe.

As you can imagine, Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe have wildly different seasons. Though you’d be surprised that Las Vegas can get chilly during the winter! If you’re seeking a white-washed wedding (which we love!) eloping in Lake Tahoe during the winter can be magical! In our opinion, there’s no ‘bad’ time of year to elope in Nevada, it just depends on the kind of vibe you’re seeking! Keep in mind that these two destinations have opposite tourist seasons: Lake Tahoe tourist season is extremely busy late spring – early fall, while Las Vegas’ tourist season is November – March.
If you’re eloping in Las Vegas, no one wants to be drenched in sweat for their wedding day. It makes it miserable for you and for your guests! Because of that, we highly recommend an early morning or late evening ceremony to avoid the high temps. If you’re eloping in Lake Tahoe, the valley nature of the area means that the sun rises later and sets earlier. Outside of direct noon, there’s really no bad time to elope in Tahoe!
No matter what style or size of elopement you’re seeking, Nevada can be an extremely affordable place to elope! Definitely keep in mind when tourist seasons are for Vegas and Tahoe, as that can mean that hotels, airfare and Airbnb’s can spike or drop. It’s also super wise to do a bit of research as to events that are taking place on the days you’re considering for your elopement. For instance, if there’s a large sports event in Vegas, it can be extremely hard to find hotels, rental cars, and everything will be at a higher price! For Simply Eloped packages, we offer the baseline package with just an officiant all the way up to the full suite of services for a microwedding.

Las Vegas is one of the easiest places on the planet to obtain a marriage license! All you’ll need is a form of identification, such as a driver’s License, military ID, or passport, as well as $77. If either of you were previously married, you’ll need the date of your divorce as well as the city and state your divorce decree was filed in.
If you’re getting married in Lake Tahoe, be sure you’re aware which side of the lake you’re eloping on. Half of Tahoe is California and half is Nevada; unfortunately both states have different requirements for getting married. Just something really great to be aware of!
You’ll need at least one witness present at your ceremony, which your photographer can easily act as. Unfortunately your officiant is not able to act as a witness.
This is such a personal question based on what kind of vibe you’re seeking for your destination wedding! If you’re a big gambler, there are a number of amazing Casinos in the Las Vegas area. If you’re into something more quiet and rural, you can’t go wrong renting a cabin in Tahoe on Airbnb or VRBO. No matter what vibe you’re after, there are ample opportunities for great stays!
Las Vegas is known for spontaneous elopements, so we’re flexible to plan a ceremony with as little advanced notice as a week. However, we find on average that our couples are planning 3-9 months out so that other details – like airfare and hotel – can also be arranged in conjunction with planning the elopement details.
We contract with the best Nevada elopement vendors and photographers in the business, so you’ve come to the right place! No matter what package you book with us, know that we’ve vetted every person on our team to ensure they match our values, vibe and quality!
1. We don't believe a wedding has to be stressful. There is far less to coordinate (and we take on most of that planning anyhow), and your realm of responsibility consists of making a few decisions and getting your marriage license. It's hard to beat a wedding that is actually...wait for it...relaxing!
2. Cost-conscious: Let's be honest, there is so much uncertainty right now! Economic recession? Inflation? Rising cost of living? Save your money for a honeymoon or buying a house and still have a ceremony you'll remember for the rest of your lives.
3. A Ceremony should be About YOU and YOUR LOVE: When did a wedding turn into a party for everyone else? We personalize every aspect of your experience – from the vendors to the vows. We'll even cry real tears with you. We're here to celebrate the core of what makes a wedding ceremony special: you making a lifetime commitment to the one you love. That's a big deal – and we treat it as such.
1. Flowers by Palette We have arrangements based on a color palette, which means the types of flowers may not be exactly as pictured, but the colors and arrangement style will match. You can explore our options for Flowers by Palette here (excluding Hawaii).
2. Hawaiian Arrangements Hawaii is a unique destination, and we have our stunning tropical arrangements for ceremonies taking place in Hawaii. You can view these arrangements here. Please note that these arrangements are only available in Hawaii.
As soon as you book our services, we get to work! We'll immediately introduce you to your Personal Elopement Planner, who is kind of like your best friend between the date you book and the day you elope! Your Pep will be ensuring every step of the process is smooth and delightful. They will introduce you to your team, answer any questions you have, put your schedule and invoice together, and much more!
We'll also begin the process of personalizing. You'll work with your officiant to ensure your ceremony matches what you envision and dream of. Your photographer will ensure they understand the kind of shots or photos you're hoping for. Your hair & makeup artist will inquire about the style you're going for with your hair and makeup. Your dashboard is also customized to meet your needs.
We offer many tools to help you feel at ease about your decision to book Simply Eloped, including your personalized Elopement Checklist, your marriage license guide, your Wedding Page, and more! You can even make installment payments on your invoice at 0% APR. Weeks prior to your ceremony, we'll send your itinerary with all the details you and your guests need. Your team will meet at your ceremony site, and the rest, as they say, is history.
First off, know that every moment of your elopement day, we are available to you for whatever you need! We're very prompt on timing with floral delivery, hair & makeup, etc.
Your team will always meet at your venue prior to your ceremony time to ensure everyone is collected, introduced, and ready for a gorgeous ceremony right on time. Your officiant will kick off your ceremony and ensure that all of your requests are beautifully exhibited in your personalized ceremony. It's important to note that your dedicated Personal Elopement Planner will not be present at the ceremony, but will definitely be accessible by phone or text for your day-of needs.
Ceremonies generally last 15-20 minutes, which will then kick off into your portrait session with your photographer (if you booked one with us). The main task you need to be mindful of on your big day is bringing your marriage license, and we do the rest! 🌼👰🤵
