Ashton & Jordan’s Intimate and Dreamy Sapphire Point Elopement

When Jordan proposed, it was a total surprise to Ashton.

“When he knelt down, I thought he was fixing his shoe,” Ashton recalled. “I actually looked at him, and had to do a double take. I was so in shock! When I said ‘yes,’ all of these people walking nearby on a bridge started yelling and celebrating with us. I had no idea who they were, but they were so excited for us. It was hilarious,” Ashton said.

So, what made them want to elope?

“It was pretty interesting as to how we came to the decision to elope,” Ashton said. “Jordan had never been married before, and I had already done the massive, over-the-top wedding. While I think having a huge ball with all of your friends and family is so great, Jordan and I wanted a very intimate moment that was solely focused on us and no one else. For Jordan and I to be able to stand on top of a mountain, just the two of us with zero distractions meant everything to us. It was so special, and you know what? We didn’t blowup our savings or go into debt trying to have an incredible wedding!”

“Looking back, pictures do not do Sapphire Point justice! We knew that we wanted to go somewhere peaceful, beautiful, and possibly cold, so on top of a mountain seemed like the perfect idea,” Ashton said.

“Sapphire Point in the fall was the perfect place and time for our wedding,” Jordan recalled. “Seeing the love of my life walk down that trail at sunset and getting married in front of a local family of chipmunks was absolutely unforgettable!”

As for Ashton, she remembered simply waking up on her big day having no worries. “All I needed, had to do, and wanted to do that day was make it to Jordan. It was simple and so beautiful — effortless.”

At the Sapphire Point overlook, Ashton said the moment that stuck out most to her was meeting Jordan there and taking in the view. “I couldn’t believe he picked me. I remember not being able to stop the tears from streaming down my face; I was in total awe,” she said, adding, “It was a dream come true.”
